S/Was There: Hermès New Flagship

On November 28, clients, friends and family joined together to toast the opening of the Hermès flagship store. The new location is at 100 Bloor Street West, just a short move down from the previous store, in an outstanding double-story space designed by Parisian architecture agency RDAI. The store features, for the first time in Canada, Hermès furniture and lighting, along with special products specifically developed for Toronto. Axel Dumas, CEO of Hermès and Jennifer Carter, President and CEO of Hermès Canada, hosted an in-store cocktail before the night continued at “an unexpected winter,” an off-site party at Evergreen Brick Works. The party was inspired by the four Canadian seasons as interpreted by artist Jules de Balincourt. On theme activations took place underneath a multicoloured paper cavity that covered the entire space. Surprise guests, and Toronto icons, Majid Jordan and Drake gave crowd-pleasing performances while guests sipped signature cocktails and enjoyed a winter picnic.
