S/ Was There: CHANEL Opens Toronto Flagship

On November 17th, CHANEL opened their highly anticipated new flagship in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood. Designed by architect Peter Marino, the two-storey boutique takes inspiration from the Coromandel screens of Mademoiselle Chanel’s Parisian apartment with specially-commissioned artworks and furnishings in iconic CHANEL tweed. The new space features two salons dedicated to the latest RTW collections as well as four accessories salons focused on a luxurious selection of footwear, handbags, leather goods, eyewear, watches and fine jewellery.

The evening before the grand opening, CHANEL toasted the new flagship with an intimate celebration. Canadian singer Charlotte Cardin serenaded guests with a show stopping performance that paid homage to the history of Yorkville Avenue, known for it’s influential music clubs in the ’60s and ’70s, where artists such as Joni Mitchel and Neil Young got their start.

The boutique is now open and located at 98 Yorkville Avenue.
